How to wear the sweater

How to wear a sweater? It may seem like a simple question, but there are so many ways to wear it, and so many sweater styles, that the possibilities are endless. How do you find the right one? Here are our tips and advice.

The t-shirt, the star of any wardrobe

Although this is a rather simple sweater that everyone owns, there are certain criteria to observe before buying and to apply before styling it.

When it comes to materials, synthetics make you sweat... even more in summer! So you have no choice but to turn to natural materials.

The best way to find the perfect t-shirt for you:

1. Sleeve seams should be positioned over the shoulder;

2. The slightly flared collar should reach approximately to the collarbone. If you prefer V-necks, make sure they're not too deep;

3. Sleeves must stop at the biceps;

4. Your pecs should be very lightly molded, not too much;

5. The lines of the shirt should follow your sides;

6. It should stop below the belt, without molding your stomach.

Then, once you've bought a few models of this custom-made t-shirt, play around with different, looser cuts for a cool, relaxed look.

The plain t-shirt can easily be the star piece of your look if it's in a strong color, and can be a tie between the elements of the look if it's in a neutral color.

The famous leather perfecto and white T-shirt combo still works. Wear it preferably with jeans to complete this trendy look.

You can also wear your T-shirt with suit pants. You'll need to choose one with an impeccable cut, and opt for sober colors more suited to suits. This look is best achieved by tucking your t-shirt into your pants.

The polo shirt is so versatile and can give you so many different looks that we had to talk about it. It can go with the event you're invited to, but also with your mood.

For a sportier look, wear with faded or ripped jeans and a solid-colour polo shirt, without too many details. Simplicity wins!

Wear it with a chino or cleaner, plain jeans for a casual, urban look. You can add a leather jacket and shoes to transform your look into something more elegant.

If you want to tuck it into your pants, make sure they don't fit too snugly. To make sure no faux pas are made, never raise the collar of your polo. It's fine just the way it is!

If you're rather skinny, wear it slightly fitted and avoid models that are too tight, which will broaden your shoulders. Choose more square cuts to emphasize your shoulders.

If you're slim and muscular, choose polo shirts that hug your muscles. But don't go one size smaller to show them off; elegance lies in the art of measurement.

For men with curves, avoid straight cuts that are too close to the body or too long. Instead, opt for loose-fitting styles that are sufficiently slim-fitting to avoid a floaty effect.

In summer, go for light colors, preferably worn with white shorts or chino. In winter, opt for dark pants, to be worn with a polo shirt of any color.
